Thomas Barth, born in 1975, completed his school and university studies in Geneva and was admitted to the Bar in 2001.
He started working as an independent lawyer, then as a partner in a major law firm in Geneva, before opening his own law firm in 2006. Mr. Serge Patek joined him in 2007.
Thomas Barth is active on a daily basis, particularly in the following areas
- – Family law (separation, divorce, parentage, succession);
- – Medical law (errors to the prejudice of patients and their relatives, defense of private doctors);
- – Administrative law, public service and land use planning;
- – Labor law (employers and employees);
- – Criminal law (victims, perpetrators);
- – Contract law.
He also practices international arbitration in commercial matters, as lawyer, as arbitrator or as president of an arbitral tribunal.
His usual activity takes place in the Canton of Geneva, as well as in the Canton of Vaud (Nyon, Lausanne, East Vaud and North Vaud), Valais and at the Federal Court.
Thomas Barth is also a deputy judge at the Geneva Criminal Court since 2011.
He was municipal councilor of the city of Veyrier from 1999 to 2007 and then Mayor (and administrative councilor) of this municipality from 2007 to 2015.
